Sugar Test

Today in room 7 we did a sugar test, we were given a bowl of sugar and some food products.
We had to predict how many grams of sugar was in a teaspoon, there was 4g in one teaspoon (Nicole). We got given cream rice, Mars bar, coconut,Chia seeds and creamy chicken. Cream rice had 29.7g of sugar, Mars bar had 30.6g, Coco nut had 15.2g, Chia seeds had 0g and creamy chicken had 13g of sugar (Alyssa). Lots of people get fooled because they think if something is 99% fat free it's better for them. companies actually put more sugar in instead of fat to sweeten the food products making them more unhealthy than before because your body needs some fats and if you have sugar you need to burn it off before it turns into bad fats (Lucas). I was shocked by how much sugar creamed rice contained because I thought it would have less sugar. I think too much sugar in your body will turn to bad fat in your body. The bad fats make our body bulkier which is not good for us we can get diseases or cancer (Hamish).
