Sugar test

Today room 7 did a sugar test to see how much sugar is in different foods. We used a teaspoon to see  how much sugar was in our food. One teaspoon equaled four grams of sugar. There was shocking amounts of sugar in so many things. One thing our group got was jelly and it shocked me because it had 17.1 grams of sugar per serving (Cyrus).

Our lowest was the four bean mix because it was only 1 gram of sugar per serving. When we were pouring the teaspoons of sugar we had to estimate how much sugar pouring in because every teaspoon was 4 grams and some amounts were 7 or 11 so we couldn't just add whole teaspoon(Daimen).

Another one of the food items that we had to test was peanut butter, which had a total of 1.9 grams per serving. The difficult part was having to estimate how much a quarter of a teaspoon was.
It shocked me to know that almost everything had sugar in it whether it was a lot or a little bit!

The lucky last one of our experiments was peanut butter it had not much sugar in it. Overall our group really enjoyed this experiment and would love to do it again. (Claudia)
