In room 7 we have been drawing trees for a fun maths activites. Our learning intention was to see the difference between warm and cool colours. We also used a compus to make our circle. I will keep you updated.
Welcome to the Room 7 blog!! We are excited to share our learning progress with a wider audience. Our work will be a mixture of unfinished, unpublished and completed tasks. Feedback is welcome in the form of two medals (positive), a mission (constructive next step) and a question. Thanks for taking the time to share in our learning.

New Zealand is art
This is my starting background for our New Zealand is art. Our focus is to make abstract representations of New Zealand using one colour. The art works include the elements of texture, value and contrast. As you can see my colour is black I tried to ombré my background (tried). My next step is to put black bale tape with hay coming down the bottom of the tape which will go to the top of the paper. I will also put cow tail hair down the bottom so it looks like the cows are eating the hay from the tape and I will add some black road stones somewhere this is where I would like you to give me some feedback where could I put my road stones???? Thank you
TREE ART
In room 7 we have started some tree art with warm colours in the circle and cool colours outside the circle. This is my tree so far in the photo above and I am very happy on how the tree turned out as well because it is the best tree I have ever done. The reason why we are doing this is because we are lerning warm and cool colours in the colour wheel. Will show you a photo when I have finished.

Production Advertisements
Check out our Production Advertisements by clicking the links on our Lights Camera Action! page. In the advertisements, we needed to promote one aspect of our school and include sound, visual and language features.
We had so much fun filming and would love to hear what you think of them. Simply add a comment to this post.

Golden gumboot
Every Thursday the students vs the teachers in a sport. Each week we compete in a different sport. So far the students have won in touch rugby 2-0 but the teachers have won in netball 18-2. The next sport is rippa rugby. The benefits of doing the golden gumboot are we have lots of fun and the second reason is the fitness that you get from it is amazing plus if you win the whole thing you get the golden gumboot trophy, go the kids!!
Cube by Daimen
For maths Miss Boatswain set us a task to make a cube. We could either make a 8cm ❌ 8cm cube or a 10cm ❌ 10cm cube. We had to make it fit on an A3 piece of paper. Once we had drawn the Cube with precise measurement we could draw optical illusions of our choice on each face. Lots of people did them in black and white but some people decided to do theirs in colour. Our learning intention was to use shapes to create optical illusions and include shadows to make them appear 3D.

Sphere artwork
At the moment room 7 is working on a piece of artwork which is not finished yet but when it is my squares will be green or purple, this was my choice of complimentary colours. Everybody is doing one because of our current study on geometry, our learning intent was to draw shapes and add shadows to make them appear 3D.
Room 7 World Cup
Our class is having a room 7 World Cup.our learning intentions for this are to understand and develop the New Zealand spirit of sporting and sportmanship. It also gives us the chance to learn a new sport. We are doing this to have the chance to learn about the rugby, netball and Fifa World Cup or any other ones. We have four teams and we are playing soccer, touch rugby, netball, basketball and maybe hockey.
What is Ma
I have made a piece of art that represents what Ma means to me. The learning intentions behind the artwork was to use the art elements, line and texture. We weren't allowed to show a specific object or thing. We also wrote a corresponding poem about Ma. Ma to me means glowing like all the stars in the sky. I liked doing this art because it had meaning and you could be creative.
